The Protection Dog Alert is our beginning protection title that only requires a dog to display strong warning barking. This title requires an obedience and protection routine; the obedience requirement is identical to the Family Obedience Title and the protection routine is identical to the Protection Dog 1 except that the dog does not have to bite or grip the helper. The dog will be strongly threatened in the attack on the handler phase instead of requiring a grip.
This title was created to provide a protection title for a wide variety of
dogs. This title is perfect for the small breeds or for dogs that are not ready
for the requirements of a Protection Dog 1.
In addition, this title allows
people that may be opposed to a biting dog but are not opposed to having a
warning dog an opportunity to train and learn about protection. The Protection
Dog Alert also teaches the basics and fundamentals of both obedience and
protection and is a perfect title for introducing new people to the pleasures
and benefits of protection training.

The Protection Dog Alert is a training title that is designed around the training needs of a family protection dog and an excellent title for introducing new people to protection training. This title requires a separate obedience and protection routine. The obedience routine is identical to the Family Obedience title and the protection routine is identical to the Protection Dog 1, except that in this title the dog is not required to grip the helper in the attack on the handler exercise. The Protection Dog Alert teaches all the basic fundamentals of both obedience and protection and can be performed by wide variety of dogs large and small.
The Protection Dog Alert was created to meet the obedience and protection needs of American dog owners who want or need the services of a family protection dog and as title to introduce new people to the pleasures and benefits of protection training. All exercises are designed with a difficulty level suitable for beginners and all exercises are considered essentials.
NOTE: All handler/dog teams must pass their obedience routine to be eligible to participate in protection; this is a requirement for all titles concerning protection!
